N2O: Never-2-Old Program

  • Harrison Lewis Coastal Discovery Centre 339 Sandy Bay Road Port Joli, NS, B0T 1S0 Canada (map)

The N2O Program is a monthly day-trip to the Harrison Lewis Centre for those 55 and older, and their friends and family for short presentations and to take part in guided nature walks, hands-on activities, led discussions, and a lunch. Presentations will focus on topics relating to the natural environment, rural living, gardening and farming, and local history.July 25

Come down to the Harrison Lewis Centre woods Tuesday, July 25. You’ll be in for a big surprise as our resident biologist Richard McBride shares fascinating insights into ways the natural world is connected. Whether that world is a wild flower meadow, a sand beach, or, yes, the woods where Teddy Bears have their picnics, there are many things they have in common. Explore with Richard not only what we see but hidden connections between plant communities, the life under the soil, or the role of fungi that balance the growth of photosynthesis. Sharing our insights we should go home with a more profound appreciation of the balance of nature that supports us.

This 10: am to 1 pm program includes snacks and a light lunch, all free thanks to Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia. Reserve your seat at the picnic table by phoning 902-646-1554.
