Workshop description: Led by Jessica Bradford, participants in this resin jewellery art workshop will learn to embed and preserve tiny pieces of nature into necklace pendants. Workshop includes all materials needed to create a piece to take home, as well as a lunch. Participants are also invited to bring their own natural materials to put in their piece (e.g. beachcombed shells or seaweeds, dried plants/flowers, twigs, etc.).
10:00 am - Gather for tea, coffee, and a short introduction to resin jewellery, different types of resin and other materials used
10:30 am - Nature walk around the HLC to gather small natural materials to be used in the jewellery
11:30 pm - Lunch
12:30 pm - Resin jewellery instruction and work
1:45 pm - Closing, clean up

About N2O: N2O involves a series of day workshops one Tuesday per month from May to September 2018 for those 55 and older, as well as their friends and family. The objectives of the workshops are to foster learning new skills and meeting new people in the community, as well as encourage self-sufficiency, sustainability, outdoor physical activity and creativity.
This will include short presentations on a variety of topics related to the natural environment, rural living, gardening and farming, and local history, as well as guided nature walks around the Centre, hands-on activities, led discussions, and a delicious home-cooked lunch.
