Workshop description: On this wild weekend, we will be guided on an exploration of what natural medicine grows around us and learn how we can take control over the health of our bodies and minds. Erica Fraser, student of clinical herbal medicine at the Bloom Institute for Herbal Studies in Halifax, will lead us in a guided meditation and herb walk to deepen our connection to the wild and familiarize ourselves with some common medicinal herbs for first aid and every day health. Bring water and good walking shoes along with your open mind and open heart.
About the Facilitator: Erica Fraser is a lifelong student of herbal medicine, born and raised on the beautiful island of Cape Breton, having begun her personal journey while completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at MSVU. She holds deep reverence for the Mi'kmaq people and their long-standing stewardship of Turtle Island, along with profound appreciation for the power of personal healing and the re-memebering of ancestral practices of connecting to the earth and to oneself. She has been practicing herbal care for herself, her friends and family for six years now, and is currently studying to become a registered herbal practitioner at the Bloom Institute for Herbal Studies in Halifax.
