What: Founded in 2007, the Harrison Lewis Coastal Discovery Centre (HLC) is a non-profit field station and wilderness retreat dedicated to natural history and rural living. Located not far from Lockeport in East Port L’Hebert, the HLC overlooks the ocean on Port Joli Harbour and offers countless opportunities for learn about and appreciate the natural environment. From hosting field researchers and university-level courses to conducting workshops and leading environmental education initiatives, the HLC has been incredibly busy and wants to share the news and knowledge from this past spring/summer with the community. This talk will give an overview of the HLC’s history, programming, research and other initiatives, providing captivating visuals of the surrounding area and local wildlife.
